Charity Lunch at the Riverside Restaurant Raises £1051
The Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, the local charity that provides quality care for people living in Dorset, recently held a fundraising lunch at the Riverside Restaurant at West Bay. The 70 attendees enjoyed a delicious two course lunch and a talk by Lt Col Malcolm Torrent, Retired Musical Director Band of the Royal Artillery, followed by a raffle. The event was organised by Dr Ian Watson on behalf of the Charity.
Said Sue Leighton, Major Events Fundraising Manager for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust:
” We would like to thank all those who attended the lunch, and would like to express our sincere thanks to the Riverside Restaurant for their generous contribution to the event, which raised the fantastic sum of £1051 for our charity.”
Said Neil Chilcott, the Riverside’s General Manager, “The Riverside was delighted to host this fund raising lunch on behalf of the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust. Being very much part of the local community for over 50 years we [the team] all know someone who has benefited from their special care and appreciate greatly the role the Trust plays daily in Dorset life.”
